Naval and Air Force pension processing was separately transferred to dedicated offices in 1985 for faster settlement.
NAVPEN, based in Mumbai, handles pension matters for Naval officers and sailors — covering PPO issues, ePPO downloads, and pension grievances. The Directorate of Air Veterans (DAV) performs a similar role for Air Force veterans, while the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) supports Army veterans and their families with welfare and pension-related coordination, working alongside PCDA(P).
