Where and When to File

KSB Education Grant (RMEWF)

For ESM/widows seeking the monthly education grant for school, UG or widow's PG studies.

₹2,000/month per child (max 2 children), Class 1 to graduation
Also admissible to widows for a 2-year PG degree
Limited to ESM up to Havildar rank & equivalent
Not applicable for professional/technical courses
Filed online via ZSB — timing depends on class
Classes 1–9 & 11: apply from May
Board Classes 10 & 12: apply from July
Undergraduate (non-technical): apply from August
Cut-off for the financial year: November

PM Scholarship Scheme (PMSS)

For wards/widows of ESM in first-year professional or technical degree courses.

₹2,500/month for boys, ₹3,000/month for girls
Only first-year students eligible (except lateral entry)
Minimum 60% marks in qualifying exam (MEQ) required
Only two wards of one ESM can apply, one course each
Minimum 50% marks needed each year to continue
Annual renewal is mandatory to keep receiving the amount
Applications online only, via KSB portal
Typical closing date: 31 December each year

ESM or Widow I-Card issued by the ZSB
Mark-sheet / School Progress Card of the child
Part-II Order mentioning the child's name (or entry in Discharge Book)
Certificate that no similar allowance/scholarship is drawn from State or employer
Bank A/c details (PNB/SBI only) with IFSC Code
Aadhaar Card copy

Uploaded on the KSB portal at the time of registering the fresh or renewal application.

Qualifying exam (MEQ) marksheet — Class 12 / Diploma
ESM's service/discharge details — service number, rank, unit
PPO number, if the ESM parent is a pensioner
Course admission/enrolment proof from the institution
Aadhaar Card copy
